John Roth
John Roth’s Term as County Commissioner
John Roth is in his second term as Parker County Commissioner for Precinct 3. He entered office on January 1, 2005. In late 2003, John was asked by many local citizens to consider running for Commissioner. John’s message of conservative leadership was heard by the folks in Precinct 3.
The March 2004 Primary election for Precinct 3 consisted of four candidates. John and two previous Commissioners (Harold Anderson and Charlie Horton) faced the encumbent Charles Akin with Roth and Akin advancing to an April runoff. John recieved over 60% of the vote in the runoff to advance to the General Election against Democrat Rita Garner. Garner was a former long time office manager for Precinct 3. Roth defeated Garner in the November 2004 General Election with over 67% of the vote.
John was challenged in the March 2008 Republican Primary by real estate broker Mike Milner. Roth’s conservative voting record was appreciated by his constituents by the fact that they voted to re-elect him with 75% of the vote. Once again Roth faced a Democrat opponent in the General Election and again came out on top with more than 75% of the vote. On January 1, 2009 John began his second term serving the citizens of Parker County and Precinct 3.
